Dr. Zhu is currently an assistant professor at department of civil and environmental engineering at the University of Utah. He obtained his M.S. from University of Pittsburgh, and Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Zhu focuses on experimental, theoretical, and numerical methodologies in nondestructive evaluation, structural health monitoring, metamaterials, rail safety, rail thermal buckling prevention, and vibration mitigation. His research explores innovations in experimental mechanics with applications in civil, rail, and energy infrastructure.
