Markus Allgaier researches topics in optical communication and sensing. He is a specialist in scattering optics, LiDAR, and has developed several field-proven optical sensors for snow hydrology and glaciology. His laboratory houses an array of optical detectors, spectroscopic equipment, lasers, and fabrication equipment. He is also an active user of the UND Nanofoundry, where he fabricates optical thin film coatings.
