Dr. Soheil Shafaei is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Utah State University. His research and teaching focus on steel and steel-concrete composite structural engineering, seismic and wind performance structures. Dr. Shafaei has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and technical conferences, and collaborates closely with industry to translate research into practical design solutions. In addition to his research and teaching, Dr. Shafaei actively collaborates with national code development committees to update and improve current structural building codes, ensuring they reflect the latest advancements in structural performance, safety, and resilience.
