Sherif Gaweesh specializes in traffic safety and highway operations, with research focusing on the development of Safety Performance Functions (SPFs), Crash Modification Factors (CMFs), and the application of microsimulation modeling for safety and operational analysis. His work integrates empirical data with simulation tools to evaluate and enhance roadway safety across various contexts, including rural highways, signalized intersections, and emerging vehicle technologies. Dr. Gaweesh holds a Road Safety Professional (RSP) certification as well as leading and contributing to several state and federally funded projects.
